Friday..

Yeah, today is Friday!!! I didn't do anything I wanted to last night. I didn't get more icicles on the tree, didn't get Christmas cookies made, didn't do any crocheting. What did I do last night. Umm...cooked supper, got the kiddo in bed and watched a movie. Yep, what a lazy bum. Hopefully I will be more productive tonight.

Picture doesn't have anything to do with the post, I just think that it's a cute picture of my little one.

Snow Days

Oh my, I haven't updated in like months! Not a very good blogger, but I have several that I read everyday, oops, need to get better about blogging.

Yep, it snowed here last night! Which to many, probably isn't that big of a deal, but here in south Texas, we get all excited about the white stuff. We had probably about a 1 1/2! LR just loved it! Anyway, it was pretty exciting and that is all that everyone around here is talking about. Here are some pics...

For some reason, all LR wanted to do was eat the snow!! I guess as long as it wasn't yellow, I should be upset.

Newbie

Ok, I have been reading several blogs about doing the "CVSing" and finally decided to give it a try. I am so excited!! I only got one item that generated ECB's, because I wanted to make sure that it would work. But I took advantage of the Herbel Essence deal since I had a coupon for it.

Here is what I got:
Softsoap Spa $5.49
Herbel Essence Shampoo and Conditioner 3.99 each
Wrigley's gum 1.19

Coupon for the Softsoap 1.50 off
Coupon for Herbel Essense $3/2

OOP $ 6.68
ECB $5.49!

I got the Herbel Essence for .50 each! The Softsoap was basically free, with overage. Unfortunately I don't have another coupon for the Softsoap but I am thinking of getting a couple more since they are Free!!

I am so excited and now I have the CVS bug!!

After going there, I went over to the Hospice Store and got two sheets to make me two pairs of summer lounge pants. And then I scored on a vintage candy dish. I had a pretty good day today! WOOHOO!

New Year...

Wow, can't believe that it's the new year. I am very thankful that the holidays are over though. We ended up getting the turkey for the IL's Christmas dinner. I cooked it myself, my very first turkey, and it turned out pretty well if I may say so myself. LR had a blast playing with his cousins. The only disappointment or should I say what got me aggreviated is that somehow LR's movie "Shrek 3" is missing. Before we went to my MIL house, my mom came over and brought over their presents for LR. She got him Shrek 3, and of course, he wanted to take it to my MIL. We were the last to leave that night, mostly due to some of the guys were playing poker. LR and I had fallen asleep on the couch, and while dozing off, I remember the other kids watching the movie. At 12:30, I told BR that we really needed to leave if I was soppose to do the whole Santa thing. I started to get all of our things together, and for some reason, couldn't find the movie. OK...it's NOWHERE. My MIL said that she would look for it the next day so we left. Well, she never found it. She said that she looked everywhere and even called my SIL to see if her kids had it. So, LR had the movie for a whole 4 hours. You know, the more that I think about it, the more aggreviated I get about it.

We are such old people that we were asleep before midnight on New Year's eve. We don't go out, it's just to scary, cops just waiting to catch someone. We did pop some fireworks...then went to bed.

I did get some things done that I wanted, but then didn't get much on my list done. Didn't go through LR toys and get ride of the ones that he doesn't play with anymore, but I did get my all my windows cleaned (don't even ask how I started doing that). I got the flannel and one pair of LR's sleep pants cut out, just need to sew them and then make sure they turn out ok before I go cutting into the pricier material.

I started to think about some of my resolutions that I have for this New Year.

* try to do better at blogging and commenting. I am a lurker, and I know that everyone hates lurker, so I am going to try come out of the shadows.

* want to sew some more this year. I have several projects in mind.

* Don't let others bring me down. Don't let someone else's attitude effect me, either at work or when BR had a bad day at work and comes home all grumbly.

* Just be better to myself. I forget about me and then everyone suffers, family, work and friends. I am the most important person (besides my child) to me, and if ME isn't taken care of then I can't take care of family.

* and the one that almost everyone has on their list.....eat better and lose weight!

I hope everyone had a nice New Year's and a Merry Christmas, and see you on the flip side.....

Busy....

....which I am sure that everyone is at this of the year. Finished all the ornaments for everyone here at work plus the ones for all of LR's classmates. Still need to get a couple of more things for LR. Just thinking of it makes me exhausted. I am so tired of all the hussle and bussle of Christmas. I know that LR is sooo looking forward to it, but I will be so glad when it is over. Since I am off the rest of Christmas week (oops I have to work Thurs), I am thinking that I may take my tree down then. I don't think that I will wait till after the New Year. Just so that I can get my house back to normal.

In the spirit of the season, and since they ordered LR a subscription to Highlights, I sent my dad two pics of LR. I'm not extending the olive branch too much, but I thought since they did get him something for Christmas (even though they can't remember his Birthday) they should at least see how big he is getting.

Every year we always have to go to my MIL's house for Christmas Eve. We all usually bring something, which is no problem. I was expecting to have to bring mashed potatoes, or green beans. Can't bring dessert, nope, that is ALWAYS saved for my oldest SIL to bring. I guess it's an unspoken rule that she is the only one to brings sweets...anyway, two weeks ago my MIL called and asked if I still get a turkey every year for Christmas. OK, I haven't gotten a turkey for Christmas since I started the job that I have now, 5 YEARS AGO!! Anyway, then earlier this week, BR told me that we needed to get with my MIL to talk about us buying the turkey. WTF! For some reason this really hit me the wrong way. Why should we be responsible for the turkey. Especially since I would prefer a ham! Well, I haven't called her, she can call me. Funny thing is that she called BR about the turkey instead of calling me. Does she know how to work it or what.

Need to go the post office, but I know the line will be soooo long, I will be there longer than my hour lunch. So, some people may get their presents after Christmas. I know, I suck, wait to the last minute. Do it every year, you would think that I would eventually get better. Apparently, I am a slow learner.

Nothing....

Haven't written in a while due to my life is boring right now. My aunt and Uncle drove down from the "burnt orange" city to see me yesterday. Brought LR his Christmas gift. I debated on whether or not tell him that she brought it. I guess I shouldn't have since LR got upset with me when I wouldn't let him open it last night (make him wait till Christmas!). I told him to call her and tell her "Thank You" and he said no. His reasoning....if he couldn't open it yet he wasn't going to nice and tell her thank you yet. I guess he has a point.

I started out in the Christmas spirit and now it's kinda gone down hill. I don't feel like shopping or doing the rest of the decorating that I need to do at the house. I don't have much longer, so I better get me arse in gear. I still need to make gifts for teacher, bus driver, girls here at the office, and postman. Can't forget the postman right? Not that he really ever brings anything good, like a check from Ed McMahan. All he brings is cramp, like bills.....

LR started Little Dribbler's this week. I am soooo relieved that it's only one night a week, and I think he is also. We have a way better coach this year than last, so I hope it goes smoother this year. And he actually learns a little something besides that winning is EVERYTHING and always give the ball to the older boys to let them score all the points. I mean, come on, they are 5 yrs old. Teach them the fundamentals first, then they learn from there. We aren't playing for the state championship or anything. Geez....

I am going to try and crochet another hat...the first one I did was way way way to big. I thought I followed the pattern, but guess not... or I have a smaller head than the average person, and I doubt that.

Well, I will go after leaving you with that long long rambling sentence above.

Big Day........

Well, it's here and fixing to be gone. I'm ok with it, like I said before, I was kinda having a problem with this birthday, but it turned ok. Went and had lunch with my mom and then having a nice dinner tonight with the hubby and kiddo.

Turned out to be a pretty good day after all....
