He knows All the Right Things to Say...

Ok, so it's the eve of my half way to forty birthday, and BR knows how to make me feel special...

I went to HEB on my lunch hour, we needed sugar...couldn't make tea, kool-aid and I had a starving dog that was out of food. After making my way past the meat section, I stopped and decided to get me a bottle of wine. I finished getting the rest of the my stuff, and proceeded to the checkout. And the sweet little checkout girl carded me!! Yeah for me. Made me feel better (even if I live in a college town and she was only protecting her butt). Any way, I leave and then decide to call BR and tell him. I get him on the line, tell him my story, and all serious he tells me "Yeah, I heard that the big chains like Wal-Mart, HEB and Kroger, they have to card everyone under 40yrs old." Thanks...you say the sweetest things DEAR!

Funny....

Thought I would share a funny. I don't know I think this is hilarous, but for some reason I do. And of course, BR didn't think it was funny at all. Sometimes I wonder just how he makes me laugh all the time if he doesn't think this is funny.

I've had a cough for about a month. Now, it's getting worse, I cough like I am about to cough up a lung. I thought maybe I would go to the dr, but being the wimp I am, I am going to tough it out and wait a little longer, at least till after Thanksgiving. In which, hopefully the cough will be gone, and then, no need to go! YEAH! (I'm such a wuss when it comes to going to the dr).

Speaking of Thanksgiving, we have absolutely NO plans for Thanksgiving. And I am not even stressed out about it. I am thinking that I will fix something small, maybe smoke a chicken on the pit, and just relax and watch football. I just don't feel like doing all the hussle and bussle of the holiday right now. I may even get some of my Christmas decorations out and do a little decorating. LR will be excited to have his little tree in his room. He gets to decorate it all by himself and his mom's Type A personality won't interfere at all. Even if it means that she has to leave the room. LOL

Weekend

It's hard to come back to work when you have been off for 3 1/2 days and you know that it's a short work week. Took off early Thurs...just because I can. Then Friday went and watch the girls play volleyball in the state tourney. They won, so the next game was at 9am on Sat, we had to leave the house by 6:30 to be there on time. We were exhausted by the time that we got back Sat afternoon. I am excited that it is a short week! Took off 1/2 a day on Wed since LR will be getting out of school early.


I have lot of things to do, just don't know if I feel like doing any of it. I think I am still in awe that it's Thanksgiving already. Man...when you get older the holidays come faster and faster!

Weekend

Oh, what a weekend. Let's see, we had to make 3, that's 3 trips to the auto parts store because the stupid college kid that works there couldn't get us the correct brake pads. I mean, come on, how hard can it be to look at the part number on the computer and then go to the back and look for the same part number and bring it to the front counter. Good lord, how in the hell are you going to graduate college?

Other than that, not much exciting. Did catch the last 30 minutes of Nip/Tuck since I missed it on Tuesday. I think this season is going to be way way way better than last! Last season got a little too weird for my taste.

Got my hair cut on Thurs. I thought I liked it, not so sure now. Hopefully either it will grow out a little or I will finally learn how to style the shit.

Crazy

Flag football is almost over. One more game, thank goodness. LR sure is a cranky person when he gets to bed late. Football may be over, but then basketball starts. I gave LR the choice if he wanted to play or not, and of course, he said yes. Great, but then I found out last night that he will have a different coach than last year. Thank you for that!! I couldn't stand the coach he had last year. I thought maybe I was being just close minded, then found out that that no....some other mother's felt the same way. So yeah, hopefully we will have a better year. I mean, winning is everything, at least not at this age....he's only 5! I thought I was include a picture of my little man playing, he definately has loads of fun!




















Oh, and since I am starting this all over and I visit a couple of sights daily, I thought I would show everyone out there some love!! LR giving ya a great big kiss!!

Sweet Boys

How sweet can little boys be to their moms? VERY!! Last night while putting LR to bed, before he fell asleep he told me that "I was very pretty". Now, what is better than that. Good thing he didn't tell me that while he was getting in trouble because I probably would have let him get away with murder!

For the past year or so I had started to wonder if I wanted to have another child or if I was a one child mother. Being 10 days late to start my period, I learned fast that I only want one child. There is nothing wrong with having more children, my husband is 1 of 5, but for my personal sanity, one child is enough. Plus, you know, what you did when you were younger comes back double when you have kids. I was a pretty good teenager, but BR, not so. I'll have the boy that sneaks out of the house, steals the truck and is cruising the dirt roads (we live out in the country)in the middle of night with a bunch of his buddies in the back. At midnight, I'll get a knock on the door from either the Sheriff Dept. or some girls parents who is blaming LR for convincing their daughter to go with him. Think I should just start calling him LH for Little Hellion now?

Anxiety

Lately, oh for the past week, I have been having anxiety attacks. Why? Who the hell knows, but it is driving me crazy. I don't know what has changed for me to be having these attacks.

On a lighter note, LR did really good at his flag football practice. He surprised me at how well he did. I guess watching all the football on TV with BR is doing some good. Even one of the other mother's commented on how fast he was. One of the bigger boys that was playing defense was pushing him around a little and LR yelled at him "It's not time yet!!" Which made me laugh, I have never seen him really get frustrated at another boy before. I guess he isn't scared of even the bigger boys. Could watching the hoaky wrestling be beneficial? Yeah, right!!!

Trying Again

Thought that maybe I should try to get into the routine of blogging. I don't know why I have such a hard time finding time to write. I don't have a hard time finding time to read others! Any hoo, I think another thing is that I worry about writing about something and someone who shouldnt' read, ends up reading. But I guess if they do, then they do. Nothing I can really do about it. So, I will give this a go AGAIN!

Friday!!

Yeah, its' Friday!! And i'm not feeling to bad so I think I will get to go and have that hamburger and beer with the girls tonight after all. Yeah for me. The only thing that sucks is that I'm having a salad for lunch to make up for being so bad tonight.

UGGHH!!

I think I am getting sick again. IT SUCKS!! I was just sick in the middle of January. Now I have the sore throat, sneezing and runny nose. I am trying to nip it in the bud by taking some Tylenol Flu now. I am soppose to go and have drinks with the girls from work on Friday and I rarely get to that... I sure don't want to be sick! And as a added bonus, the past couple of mornings Little Fred has been saying his throat hurts. Watch, he will get sick and I will have to cancel my plans. Oh well, I guess you gotta take of family, Right?

We have basketball practice tonight. I hope I will be able to keep my mouth shut. Last week I ran my mouth some about the coaches not really teaching the kids anything. Then, at the game on Saturday, I was talking to one of the other mothers and I found out that the coach and his wife are only interested in winning. My God, they are only 4 and 5 yr olds! Should we really be teaching them that winning is everything at the age? How about we teach them the fundamentals of basketball first? Anyway, we live in a small town so I am sure that I am "The" mother that was running her mouth last week. Small towns...sometimes they are great, sometimes they suck!!

As far as losing weight, probably not doing so hot this week. Haven't been eating that great at night. Last week, I didn't lose or gain any weight. I hope I at least lose on pound this week, would be really great if I lost more! Guess we'll see when I weigh on Monday.

New Year and I meant to try and start blogging at the beginning of January and now it's the end of January and I am just now getting around to it. Between work and let's just face it, life...sometimes time just gets away from you. And having a little one that is doing Little Dribblers doesn't help. He has practice every Wednesday night and then games on Saturday. Thank goodness it is Friday, so I better go so that I can start my weekend!
